History of Dave French

Dave French was born in Claremore Oklahoma in 1970. At the age of 14 he edited his first video using two VHS decks and the video of his church ski trip. A crude start to a life-long passion for production and entertainment. 

His first "REAL" TV job was as a Master Control Operator for the only broadcast TV station owned by a college at the time, KXON TV35.

On to The University of Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelors in Journalism-Radio/TV/Film with a minor in Communication, Psychology and History.

After many late nights, DJing at night clubs & parties during college, and a brief time at KOKH FOX 25 in OKC, he landed at KTFO in Tulsa as the director of a live, one hour call-in TV show,  OPENLINE

His next stop was as a promotion/commercial producer for KOKI FOX23 in Tulsa once Clear Channel Television purchased the small independent station. His time there would 

be instrumental in growing his experience as

a writer, director and editor.

Then on to KOLD New13 in Tucson AZ.

As Sr. Promotion Producer he managed a 

team of writers, editors, producers, and talent.

This CBS News station would give him a taste

of working in the high-presser, deadline

driven production environment.

His next step would be back to KOKI/KTFO.

He returns as the Creative Services Director

for the Fox & UPN stations in the 56th market.

He managed a staff of nearly 30 people, budgets for three departments, and two TV stations 

in 1999, Dave French moved to Dallas Texas to work at UPN21.  He acquired the title of Sr. Promotions Producer for the 5th largest market in the United States. By late 2000, CBS11 & UPN21 had merged and he was back in the demanding world of news.

After the events of September 11, Dave felt it was time to move on from corporate television and out into the independent world as a freelance producer. Since December, 2001, Dave French has followed his dreams & passion for making anything and everything associated with entertainment and production. Winner of a multitude of film festival award for Best Cinematography, Peoples Choice, a couple Telly Awards, a Fox Monument Award and a Emmy with the Texas Rangers. 

In this time he has had the pleasure of a multitude of "titles" in the industry.  Still learning to this day, enjoying every minute of it.  Dave French is truly a professional with the perfect attitude to make every production or event a fun & successful experience.
